This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of Problem Based Learning models toward to student’s understanding of mathematical concept. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMPN 5 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018 that were distributed into 11 classes. The sampling was done by purposive sampling technique and it was chosen students of VIII-A and VIII-B as samples. The design which was used was the –posttest only control group design. The data of student’s understanding of mathematical concept obtain using test technique. The data analysis was used was Mann-whitney U test. Based on the research and conclusion indicated that the learning used Problem Based Learning is not influence on student’s understanding of mathematical concept.
